Working with less-privileged young people to improve their awareness of and access to professional jobs in the City of London.

Our donation provides funding for ‘Pathways to the City’; a five-stage employability programme for young people aged 16-25. Over three years, the charity will engage 3,750 young people, 100+ schools and universities and 1,500 volunteers at 30 corporate partners.

Providing young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with the material resources and life skills needed to succeed.

Our donation provides funding for ‘Stepladder Plus’; a six-step programme of incentivised learning to help young people (aged 15-17 years) in care gain skills in literacy, numeracy, financial capability, financial planning and securing education and employment.

Providing education, adult learning, employment and wellbeing to young people and adults on low incomes or receiving benefits in West London.

In 2021 it helped 1,500 young people and 1,100 adults. Our donation helps fund specialist legal and trauma advice from Coram, for around 30 young people a year who are at risk of being excluded from school, benefitting both the young person and their family.

A social mobility charity, working with less-privileged young people to improve their awareness of and access to professional jobs.

Our support has allowed SHS to develop an Economic Well Being (EWB) program. Over the past two years SHS has expanded the reach of the EWB content. Leveraging social media platforms, newsletters and website, alongside continued training for all practitioners, has ensures that as many people as possible are benefiting.

Providing training for young people from underrepresented, underserved communities helping them fulfil their potential and gain employment.

Our donation provides funding for ‘Making Change Happen’, a programme in East London helping participants understand how to become leaders and instigators of change in their communities. The aim is to work with 200-250 18-25 year olds over the next three years.

Supporting the City of London

As a livery company, we support the Lord Mayor and City of London Corporation in helping to create a City that is inclusive, healthy, skilled and fair. Our donations help organisations support the less privileged, raise understanding of societal issues, and recognise the role of those who defend our nation.

Since 2017, our partnership with the WCIB has greatly enriched our ability to support vulnerable families on matters of Economic Well-Being (EWB). After consultations, trials and training we created a dedicated EWB Coordinator post and a toolkit for our practitioners to use to deliver comprehensive information to service users.
