The Master, WCIB members and their guests were given a fantastic welcome and fascinating tour of the Old Bailey (the Central Criminal Court) last night by Alderman & Sheriff Michael Mainelli. Stories of its architecture, it's people, it's history at the heart of our Justice System were at once both sobering and moving.

Joshua Culmer from Christ Church Business School, Canterbury Christ Church University has won the WCIB 2019 prize for the highest single Honours Finance.  On 10th September 2019 WCIB Liveryman Stephen Clark presented Joshua with his cheque and certificate.

The WCIB Lombard Prize was initiated by Alan Moore CBE in the early 1990’s when he was Chairman of the Lombard Association to reward an outstanding student of the City University (now the Sir John Cass Business School) evening MBA Programme.   Subsequently the Lombard Association was merged with the Bankers Club which, in turn, formed the core base for the formation of the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.  When the Company was formed in 2001 it was agreed that the Company would continue to support the Prize and it was renamed the Worshipful Company of Interna

The Joseph King Memorial Trophy is awarded by the Court every year to a member of the Company who has made a great contribution over a number of years.  This year the Trophy was presented to Liveryman Katrina Arnold by the Master at the Mansion House Banquet on 27th February 2019.

The Company's Annual Banquet was held on 27th February 2019 at The Mansion House where 342 members and guests enjoyed the hospitality of the Lord Mayor, our Immediate Past Master Alderman Peter Estlin and the Lady Mayoress Lindy Estlin.  The guest speaker was WCIB Past Master Bob Wigley who spoke about the challenges facing the financial services industry.  Click on the picture above for a portfolio of photographs from the Banquet.
