This year’s Installation Evening took place over Zoom, was very well-attended by properly-attired members from their homes, and was a great success. Following a short speech by the outgoing Master Karina Robinson on the year behind us, with some lively Q&A, the Clerk tendered the Oath to the new Wardens and Master: Junior Warden Angela Knight CBE, Middle Warden Jason Van Praagh, Senior Warden John Bennett MBE and the Master Robert Merrett.  The new Master made a short speech about his vision for the year ahead.

This was followed by a superb musical interlude given by students from Guildhall School of Music and Drama Pianist: Toby Hession, Singers: Katherine McIndoe and Adam Maxey who performed three Mozart pieces Porgi amor from Le nozze di Figaro, Madamina from Don Giovanni and the duet Bei Männern from Die Zauberflöte.

We then heard a rousing speech by Alderman and Sheriff Michael Mainelli followed by a lively discussion.  The Master presented Sheriff Mainelli with the Honorary Freedom of the Company and the evening concluded with a Reflection from the Honorary Chaplain the Reverend George Bush recorded at St. Mary-le-Bow.
